                    VETERAN MASTER ASHOK KUMAR LENKA BECOMES INTERNATIONAL MASTER INSTRUTOR, COACH AND GETS INTERNATIONAL GOLD MEDAL AT 52 YEARS AND DEDICATES TO KARGIL MATRYS

Master Ashok Kumar Lenka, MBA, MPEd, BE, PGJMC, PGDCA, BMC, AMC,  an Air Veteran, Founder and Head coach of Hawrang Academy is also National Secretary in charge Sports and Adventure for Veterans India a tri-services National level Veterans Group. Air Veteran of Indian Air Force has served 22 years in IAF as an Engineer and Operation In charge at different parts of India and took volunteer retirement as Junior Warrant Officer in the year 2010. 

He Served 7 years in Missiles in Exceptional performance category. He was in Missile Squadron Demo team for Defence Minister. 8 years into fighter’s base with 37 Squadron. During Presidents Standard Presentation 37 Squadron by than President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, he was in charge for Filming, Photography and designing of First Day Cover, backdrop for President Standard Parade, Curtain Raiser, Presidential Tea, Photo Exhibition, CAS Banquet, Brouchers, Pamphlets, stickers and even heading IT team. He was also 5 years into IAF Film Making unit Audio Visual Production Unit at Bangalore, He has made several Vido CBTs and Short Films on IAF Ads, Promos, Training, Aircraft Servicing, Maintenance, special vehicles, Aero India etc.. He also has participated in Kargil War. 

During his service in IAF apart from performing his duties and responsibilities he has qualified himself as mountaineer and has climbed 11 mountain peaks in Himalayas. On these heights he has performed martial arts over these mountains along martialistic Buddhist Culture of LUNGUM and TSUMO. For which all these years he was in National News papers. He climbed these peaks from year 1998 to 2008 for this rare feat he was nominated for Tenzing Norgay National Land Adventure Award from SWAC and IAF. 1998-Sinla and Chhota Kailash Expedition-18500ft flagged off by than Defence Minister Gerorge Fernandez.1999-Mount Bhagirathi -22500ft flagged of by than sports minister Mukul wasnik, 2000-Tripple Peak Expedition-18500ft- Flagged off By Karnataka Governor Smt VS Ramadevi, Central Sports Minister Jagjith Singh Dhindsha, Air Mshl JS Rai. 2001- Mount Rudugaira Expedition – 185000ft- Flagged off by than Defence Minister Gerorge Fernandez, 2002- Mount Nanda Ghunti Expedition-19500ft-flagged off by Lok Sabha Speaker and ex-home minister Mr Shivraj Patil, 2004- Mount Chandrabhaga-16 19000ft, 2005-Mount PinParvati Expedition-19000ft, 2007-Mount Rehnok 16500ft at BC-260, IAF Expedition to Mount Hanuman Tibba -19500ft- flagged off by Director Adventure Cell, Mount Patalsu -15500ft at DAMAS Manali, Siachin Expedition trained at High Altitude Battle School, Siachin. 

Last 30 years he has taught Taekwondo at different Air Bases of India through AFWWA out of which 10 years in Avadi Air force, Chennai. He coached Taekwondo at Adampur Punjab, Awantipur J&K, Bangalore Karnakata, Nal Rajasthan, Bhuj Gujrat finally Avadi Tamilnadu. He has introduced Self Defence for Cadets of AFTC, taught Garud Force and Quick Reaction Team of IAF and J&K. He was also an athlete from Childhood and played upto Western Air Command IAF Level. Post retirement he with his wife has founded Hawrang Academy to contribute to Nation’s development through the growth of younger generation through sports till level of Olympic or Fitness. He also had adventure in the academy curriculum to nurture the young generation in adventure, Aim is to create adventurist till Mount Everest Level. He is also a HathaYoga, Aerobic and Zumba Master too. Conducts class/ lectures and workshops for women Empowerment. 

He has produced many national and international players and champions in Taekwondo. He is presently a Kukkiwon World Master, International Coach, International Medalist, 6th Dan Taekwondo black belt, 2nd Dan Hapkido (Self Defence), 3rd Dan Kenbudo (Weapon) 3rd Dan Sailum (HathaYogic) martial artist. He is also Nature Trekker, Rock Climber, photographer; Qualified Film Maker was head of media production at DBICA (Don Bosco Institute of communication and Arts).Since the inception of Hawrang Academ y in Chennai, he contributed 19 International Players, 10 International Medalist, more than 50 Taminadu Champions and National Players in Taekwondo , 5 National Gold Medalist, 5 National Medalist and More than 500 Kvs and CBSE Medalists. More than 1000 State and District Medalists. More than 40 Sports scholarship holders. He has more than 100 Black Belt students, 10 Referees and coaches etc Few of his recent achievements are showcased below:-

  1. INTERNATIONAL MASTER INSTRUCTOR (KUKKIWON, S KOREA): From 8th to 13 July he has represented India in 77th International Master Taekwondo Course at Taekwondon, Muju Korea. The course was promoted by Kukkiwon which is World Taekwondo Headquarters at Seoul,South Korea. He successfully completed the 6 days course and become International Master Instructor Class 3. It is worthwhile to mention here that after completion of this course only we are eligible call our self as :Master” The course had 100 participants from 35 countries in the world. Classes were taken by Grand Masters of 9th Dan and they are professors of Taekwondo holding PHD in Taekwondo from different university of Korea. The subjects covered were Kyorugi, poomsae, self-defense, demonstration, breaking, Nutrition, philosophy, psychology, sports science and History. In subject of History Guru Bodi Dharmas contribution to the world was well remembered. My two lectures in History of Taekwondo and on reform of Kukkiwon were appreciated with huge applause and were rewarded by Grand Master. On 13 July course was completed after written and practical examination and the certificate was handed over by Grand Master Hwang the course Director.

2. INTERNATIONAL COACH LICENCE: He also earned his International Taekwondo Coach License by participating in 11th Asian Taekwondo Union (ATU) Course on 9th June 2019 at NITHM Hyderabad. The course was conducted by World Taekwondo ATU Vice President Professor Kyu Seok Lee organized by Taekwondo federation of Indian (TFI). Professor Kyu Seok Lee is also Bruce Lee’s Master. After successful completion of course the course certificate was handed over by ATU president Professor Kyu Seok Lee. 

3.  INTERNATIONAL MEDALIST :One of the biggest achievement is Master Ashok Kumar Lenka at age of 52 he participated in poomsae +50age category and bagged Gold in putting behind Philippines as Silver and Nepal Bronze .He also own Bronze in Kyorugi (fighting) event below 80kg +35age Master cat. So Master Ashok gets 1 Gold and 1 Bonze at International Hero Cup. 

4. HAWRANG ACADEMY BECOMES KMS MEMBER OF SOUTH KOREA AND MASTER ASHOK K LENKA BECOMES KMS MASTER.

5. ACADEMY HAS 8 INTERNATIONAL MEDALIST AND 18 PLAYER

(a) 5thHERO CUP at Bankok:On 26 Jul to 28 Jul 2019, a 10 member team represented India at 5th Hero Cup International Taekwondo Championship at Bangkok. 15 Countries and approx 2000 Taekwondo athletes participated in 5th Hero cup Taekwondo Championship at Bangkok. Team Achieved 3 Gold 1 Bronze in Poomsae and 1 Gold 1 Silver and 4 Bronze Kyorugi event making a History by winning 4 Gold 1 Silver 5 Bronze a total of 10 international medals.Other Medalists are from IAF class are his son Kalinga K Lenka a 3rd  Dan Black Belt who earned a Gold in Kyorugi & Poomsae, V Vidyacharan Kyorugi Bronze, Rithvik Kiran Poomsae Bronze, Krishiya Kiran Kyorugi Silver Poomsae Gold

(b) G1 INDIA OPEN INTERNATIONAL AT HYDERABAD: On 10 June 2019, Academy participated with 16 of its students at 2nd Edition India Open International G1 world ranking tournament at Gachhibowli stadium Hyderabad, Master U Hariprasath Bagged Bronze Medal for India and Miss Saksham Yadav from Chandigarh Ex-student of Hawrang Academy, Bagged Silver Medal for India. Proud moment for Academy. 

International players are Mr Prashanth,Mr Yogesh. MIss Harsha, Miss Arathi, Miss Tanushri, Master Aryan K Lenka, Miss Anusha, Master AAkash, Master Mukesh and Miss P Harshini is highest National Medal taker of Academy. She gets Hawrang Award -2019 for her excellence in Taekwondo Sports.
